Young artists collect prizes from Bellway at Ladden Garden Village
The winners of an art competition organised by Bellway visited the housebuilder’s Ladden Garden Village development in Yate to collect their prizes and see their work on display.
Year 5 pupils at St Mary’s CE Primary School, off Church Road in the town, drew and coloured pictures of their dream home.
A selection of the colourful pictures are now on display at the development’s sales centre, while the three competition winners – Harrison, Olivia and Cassie – were presented with book vouchers of £30, £20 and £10 during a visit on Wednesday 17 May.
School headteacher Bethan Scriven said: “It was a wonderful sunny day when we visited Ladden Garden Village and the children really enjoyed seeing their designs again.
“We’re grateful to Bellway for organising this colouring competition. The children really enjoyed creating their dream houses and seeing their designs displayed at a local housing development where Bellway are building new homes in the area.”
Year 5 teacher Annie Evans added: “This was a wonderful opportunity for the children to use their imaginations in a completely different way. We’re proud of all of their creative designs and process that went into producing them.”
Rachel Way, Sales Manager for Bellway South West, said: “Thank you to Harrison, Olivia, Cassie and all the Year 5 pupils who put in so much effort to create pictures of their dream houses. It’s been lovely to see these creations laid out in a collage on a display board at the development.
“We look forward to continuing our relationship with St Mary’s CE Primary School and supporting the community in Yate as we continue to build new homes in the town.”
Bellway is building 247 new homes at Ladden Garden Village, including 86 affordable homes available for local people through low-cost rent or shared ownership.
