We believe that good health and safety, customer care, and build quality are essential in achieving high standards across all aspects of the business. Bellway’s Site Managers play a vital role in delivering these high standards.
Site Managers undertake a wide range of diverse and demanding duties and their wealth of technical knowledge makes them an essential asset to the business. They are encouraged to perform at the highest level and to provide a friendly and supportive environment in which to work.
Recruiting, developing and retaining high quality site managers is essential in order to deliver the quality homes, standards of customer care and health and safety the we expect. We operate a Trainee Assistant Site Manager Programme with the objective of ensuring our trainee assistant site managers have the pre-requisite skills to develop into experienced site agents. In addition, our Construction Training and Development Manager’s remit is to further enhance this programme and improve construction related training across the organisation.
We believe that good health and safety, customer care, and construction quality are essential in achieving high standards across all aspects of the business. Bellway Site Managers continue to be recognised as being amongst the best in the industry, winning National House Building Council (NHBC) Health and Safety Awards as well as NHBC Pride in the Job awards.
We take pride in our developments, from the management of the construction site and the care we give to our customers, through to the relationships built with those affected by our work practices and the finished homes we build.
To co-ordinate these efforts sites, where appropriate, registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS). The CCS is an independent assessment system which awards points over five categories relevant to construction sites.
Summary of performance |
44 of our site managers won National House Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job Awards (2019 – 42). 17 of these managers went on to win Seal of Excellence awards while a site manager from our North London Division won a Regional Award in the multi-storey builder category |
As part of a drive to deliver quality homes, built to a high standard, our sites achieved an average of 0.24 NHBC Reportable Items per inspection (2019 – 0.19), against an internal target of 0.3 reportable items per inspection |
Given COVID-19 lockdown and the resultant social distancing restrictions, the NHBC did not operate their Health and Safety Awards in 2020. We look forward to Bellway site managers being successful in these awards in 2021 |
