Work complete at Bellway development in Thurrock
Work has now finished at a housing development in Thurrock, where all the homes have been built and sold.
Bellway Essex has delivered 456 new homes at Renovo, off West Thurrock Way, including one and two-bedroom apartments and two, three and four-bedroom houses, on land opposite Lakeside Shopping Centre.
Jenny Walker, Sales Director of Bellway Essex, said: “We started work at Renovo in 2018 and the completion of the construction schedule at the site brings to an end a five-year programme which has delivered hundreds of much-needed new homes to Thurrock.
“Both the sales team and the site team did a fantastic job here, which made Renovo an incredibly popular development that sold very well and saw us have a waiting list of buyers at one point.
“The standard of build at Renovo was such that the Site Manager Stuart Taylor received a Seal of Excellence from the National House Building Council (NHBC) three years running in recognition of his excellent work at the development.
“Having Lakeside Shopping Centre, with its wide range of retail, leisure and dining attractions, on the doorstep has undoubtedly been a major draw for a lot of buyers. The development is also just a 15-minute walk to Chafford Hundred Lakeside railway station, which has direct services to central London in just over half an hour.
“Renovo has transformed a former brownfield site into a vibrant new neighbourhood, which is a really positive addition to the local area. It is great to see this new community flourishing and people enjoying their new homes.”
Ellena Tregent is one young resident who loves living at Renovo. She bought a one-bedroom apartment at Renovo, after her father Paul helped her raise the deposit.
The 25-year-old teaching assistant, who was a first-time buyer, said: “The location of the development was what really made the site stand out to me – it’s close to everything.
“The shopping centre is about a five-minute walk away, and includes a variety of furniture, retail and food outlets. There is also a place called The Boardwalk, which has restaurants, a cinema, a bowling alley, and a trampolining area.
“In my home, I love that the lounge and the kitchen is one open-plan space. I had already planned what the interior was going to look like before I moved in, so it was just a case of putting everything in place and matching the white and grey colour scheme I knew I wanted.”
Although all the new homes at Renovo have now been sold, Bellway Essex is building further high-quality homes at developments across Essex and Suffolk.
