Showhomes to be unveiled at Abbey View in Bourne

Bellway is preparing to welcome house-hunters to two new showhomes at its Abbey View development in Bourne.

The finishing touches are being made to the three-bedroom Thespian and the four-bedroom Scrivener properties, which will be open to view from Friday 9 September.

Bellway Eastern Counties is building 202 homes, alongside landscaped areas of public open space, on land off Newton Abbot Way, to the south of the town.

Michaela Perkins, Sales Manager for Bellway Eastern Counties, said: “The team at Abbey View is busily preparing for the launch of these two showhomes, which will demonstrate the quality and comfort that buyers can expect from the houses we are building here.

“The wide variety of homes across the development will provide suitable properties for all types of buyers from different stages on the property ladder. The showhomes offer two examples of the spacious design and thoughtful layout of our Artisan Collection houses, which have been designed on the back of decades of customer feedback.

“The Thespian features an open-plan kitchen/dining room with French doors leading to the garden, as well as a large living room with bay window. In addition to the family bathroom upstairs, this detached house has an en suite in the first of its three bedrooms.

“Meanwhile, the Scrivener boasts an extra bedroom as well as an L-shaped open-plan kitchen/dining/family room with an adjoining utility room, plus a large living room to the front of the home.”
A range of 173 two, three and four-bedroom houses are being built for private sale at Abbey View, while 29 homes will offer affordable housing to local people through shared ownership or low-cost rent.

Bellway is also planning to open a three-bedroom Tailor showhome on site later this year as construction work progresses.
Michaela said: “We are already seeing plenty of interest in the new homes at Abbey View. The location is convenient for those who travel regularly to Peterborough or Lincoln as our site is just a short drive from the A15.

“Families with children will also benefit from our proximity to several well-regarded schools that serve different age groups, including Bourne Grammar School and Bourne Elsea Park Church of England Primary Academy, which are both within easy walking distance.”

There’s currently a selection of two and three-bedroom homes available to reserve at Abbey View, with prices starting from £214,950, including some homes available with Help to Buy, before the scheme is due to end for those wishing to make a reservation before 31 October 2022.

Help to Buy enables first-time homeowners to purchase a property with a five per cent deposit and an initial 75 per cent mortgage, with the remaining 20 per cent of the property’s market value provided as an equity loan by the government, which is interest-free for the first five years after occupation.
