Oadby football team receives financial support from local housebuilder
A junior football team based in Oadby has received a financial donation from local housebuilder Bellway.
The developer has provided £500 to Oadby Owls FC Under 7s, who play their matches at Coombe Park, around two miles from Bellway’s Stoughton Park development off Gartree Road in the town.
The donation will cover the cost of new kits for the Under 7s team for the 2022/2023 season, which began last month (September).
Adnan Essa, Manager of the Under 7s team, said: “We are very pleased and excited that a large company that is currently working in Oadby has decided to support us, and has chosen to lend its support to the local grass roots football community in the town.
“We are a fully community-based volunteer club and without donations and sponsorships of this nature, we would not be able to operate at a high level. We have around 40 teams of varying ages at Oadby Owls and all of them need new home kits to play in each season, so this sponsorship reduces that financial burden and helps us a great deal.
“I would like to acknowledge and say thank you to Bellway for its kind sponsorship of our team. The children will take great pride in wearing shirts featuring the logo of a company that is building new homes in the town, just behind our grounds and club house.”
