New showhome to open at Llantwit Fardre development

A showhome is set to open at Bellway’s Coed Derw development in Llantwit Fardre next month (November).

The first homes went on sale at the start of October and this will be the first chance for visitors to look inside a completed property at the site.

Bellway is building 95 homes on land off Llantrisant Road in the village, including a mix of two, three, and four-bedroom properties for private sale.

The new showhome is a four-bedroom, double-fronted, detached home in Bellway’s Bowyer house style, part of the developer’s flagship Artisan Collection which was designed following decades of customer feedback.

Dan Shone, Sales Manager for Bellway Wales, said: “We are looking forward to showing potential buyers around the Bowyer showhome when it opens its doors for the first time next month. I am sure visitors will find it inspiring to get a feel for how the new homes at Coed Derw will look and to see how they will suit modern lifestyles.

“We listened closely to buyers when designing the homes for our Artisan Collection. One of the things that customers valued the most was having large multi-functional spaces where they could spend quality time together as a family. The Bowyer exemplifies this with its open-plan kitchen, dining and family area which has French doors leading out to the garden, and its spacious living room which spans the length of the property.

“There’s been a lot of interest since the first homes went on the market at the start of October and we are expecting this to continue up to the launch of the showhome and beyond. The attractive rural setting and good road links to Cardiff are proving an attractive combination for buyers, particularly commuters.”

Coed Derw is being built on a 7.5-acre former brownfield site that was previously owned by chemical and care product manufacturer Clariant.

Construction work is under way on the homes, which will include 87 properties for private sale and eight affordable homes – a mix of houses and apartments – that will be available for local people through rent or shared ownership.

The scheme will include public open space on its south-eastern edge, next to existing woodland.

The development was given planning permission last year by Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council.
