New neighbourhood takes shape at Lucas Green in Shirley
A year on from the first residents moving into Bellway’s Lucas Green development near Solihull, more than two-thirds of the homes in phase one have now been completed and occupied.
The new homes are taking shape off Dog Kennel Lane in Shirley, with the first phase of the scheme comprising 76 properties, of which 59 are being sold privately and 17 are affordable homes for rent or shared ownership.
Buyers have moved into 36 homes in this phase, with a further property sold and awaiting completion, while all the affordable homes have been finished and handed over.

“And this is just the start of the project as work is now well underway on phase two with the first three properties already occupied and a further 13 sold on the next part of the development.

Phase two of Lucas Green will be delivered by Ashberry Homes, part of the Bellway group, and called Lucas Gardens. Lucas Gardens will bring a further 89 properties – a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes – with 73 for private sale and 16 affordable homes. It is set to be launched on Thursday 26 January.
