New home in Bognor Regis is note-perfect for Charlotte and Karl

Professional musician Charlotte Bolton has been singing the praises of a new homes development where she’s moved with her family.

Charlotte, 30, and her partner Karl Maclean, 36, have bought a three-bedroom house at Bellway’s Rookery Park development, off New Barn Lane in North Bersted, less than a mile from their old home in Bognor Regis where they’d lived for the past six years.

The couple moved into their new home with their one-year-old son Alfie in September after initially visiting the site in March.

Charlotte said: “We did visit a few other developments as well, but Bellway’s showhome was the only one that was 100 per cent faultless. It was so well-built that even when we were trying to find a flaw, we simply couldn’t.”

Born on the Isle of Wight and brought up in Croydon, Charlotte is a professional singer who has performed at venues including the Royal Albert Hall and in cathedrals across the south of England. She studied music performance at the University of Chichester and has since spent time teaching, performing and conducting choirs and large school events across West Sussex.

Having already made their home in Bognor Regis – where Karl, a mortgage advisor, was born and bred – the couple were delighted to find Rookery Park when they started house-hunting.

Charlotte said: “We started looking to redecorate our old property because it had been built quite a while ago. We tried to make some alterations, but it quickly became obvious that it was going to be too expensive to renovate the house.

“That’s when we started to look for a new build so that we could buy something fresh and make it our own without much effort or expense.

“We put our house on the market earlier this year and we got an offer for it in within two days. By the end of the week, we had reserved this plot at Rookery Park because we felt it was the right place for us.

“We used to go on walks in the same neighbourhood where Rookery Park is now during the lockdown and so we have always liked how peaceful and relaxing this area is.

“One of our relatives had also bought a house from Bellway a couple of years ago and once we had spoken to them about their experience, we were happy to buy this house.”

Charlotte and Karl bought a three-bedroom Chandler semi-detached house, which they much prefer to their previous terraced property.

Now they have moved in, the family are enjoying life in their peaceful new surroundings.

Charlotte said: “Our old house was in a fairly busy location and so there was plenty of traffic nearby most of the time.

“When we first moved into this house, I remember how we went to the bedroom and tried to listen for any noise from the road, but it was nice and quiet. We also have a nice open field right in front of our home.

“At the same time, Rookery Park is still close enough for us to just walk to the local superstore as well as other local amenities and I really appreciate that convenience.

“The location has also made commuting a bit easier because it is right up the road from the Bognor bypass which allows me to escape the traffic in the town on my drive to work.”

Charlotte and Karl were also particularly impressed by the on-site team at Rookery Park as they went through the homebuying process.

Charlotte said: “The customer service we have received from Bellway’s staff is just outstanding. They have been incredibly considerate and helpful throughout the process.

“The site manager, Nigel, was willing to spend his own time to help us with our house whenever we needed him. He took a lot of care to ensure that we were happy, and his attentiveness was so reassuring that we could always rely on him.

“The sales advisors, Caroline and Christine, were also ready to facilitate our needs and go the extra mile.

“They took such good care of us that it felt as though we were the only people they were helping because they gave us all the attention we needed. So, I would happily recommend Bellway to anybody who is looking for a new home.”

There’s currently a final selection of three and four-bedroom detached houses available for purchase at Rookery Park, with prices starting from £379,995.
