More than 150 homes built as two new developments in Ryton take shape
Construction is progressing well at two new housing developments in Ryton, where more than 150 homes have now been built.
Bellway is building 180 new homes at Summerhill View, while Ashberry Homes – which is part of the Bellway Group – is building 103 properties at neighbouring Stargate Meadows.
Work on the two sites, off Cushy Cow Lane, began in 2022 and a total of 156 homes have now been completed – 97 at Summerhill View and 59 at Stargate Meadows.
The first residents moved into their homes in January 2023 and 130 properties have now been occupied.
Emma Chesterton, Sales Director for Bellway North East, said: “Construction work has passed the halfway mark at our two Ryton developments and with more than 100 homes now occupied, a thriving new community is beginning to take shape.

Both Summerhill View and Stargate Meadows feature a range of two, three and four-bedroom houses for private sale. Across the two developments, Bellway and Ashberry are providing 240 properties for sale on the open market, 15 homes available at a discounted market value to eligible local buyers, and 28 homes for affordable rent.
Construction work is due to finish at both developments in 2026.
