Major new homes development near Cribbs Causeway to open

A major new housing development on the edge of Bristol is set to open to the public this month (November).

The 256-home Berwick Green scheme is being built by Bellway off Cribbs Causeway and the first homes are set to be released for sale later this month when a sales cabin opens on site.

Work is under way on phase one of the development, which consists of 192 two, three, and four-bedroom houses and two-bedroom apartments for private sale, as well as 64 affordable properties available for local people through rent or shared ownership. The house styles on the development are from Bellway’s Artisan Collection.

Rachel Way, Sales Manager for Bellway South West, which is based in Bristol, said: “I’m sure that this new development off Cribbs Causeway will be popular when we launch sales of our new homes.

“There are two factors driving this – the quality of the properties, and the location.

“Buying at Berwick Green is an opportunity for people to choose from our Artisan Collection. This was developed through close communication with homebuyers to develop layouts and features that give them exactly what buyers want and need – all built to the highest standards. And we know from talking to homebuyers who have moved into Artisan homes on other developments that they love their style and practicality.

“The location here is perfect for anyone who needs to commute into Bristol or go further afield as it’s not far from the city or the M5. Shops and entertainment are also nearby as the new community will be in a prime position to drop into The Mall at Cribbs Causeway.”

Phase two of Berwick Green is also in the pipeline as a planning application for that part of the scheme has been submitted. Bellway plans to build 112 private properties and 41 affordable homes in this second phase.

Berwick Green is part of a much wider scheme to help meet housing needs in the Bristol area. The overall project is planned to ultimately deliver 760 homes to the area and is being delivered by Bellway and another homebuilder.

The wider scheme is also bringing in £12.5 million in investment as part of the planning agreement, and this will be spent on a range of services.

Rachel added: “This new neighbourhood and the wider community will reap the benefits of this significant investment, which will support services in the area, from schools to the road network.”

Berwick Green is the largest land purchase ever made by Bellway South West.
