Kensington Vale's sales soar as Howden development nears completion

Ashberry Homes’ first ever Yorkshire development, Kensington Vale in Howden is close to selling out just two-years after sales commenced.

Only seven of the 145-homes being built on the outskirts of the East Riding market town remain, with prices ranging from £219,995 for a three-bedroom Heather to £349,995 for a four-bedroom Angelica.

Paula Murdoch, Ashberry Homes’ sales manager, said: “To virtually sell-out any development of this size in little over two-years is impressive, but when you consider that Kensington Vale was our first development in Yorkshire and we launched it mid-pandemic then it really is an incredible achievement.”

built on land adjacent to Selby Road in Howden, Kensington Vale comprises a strong mix of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, which Ashberry says was a key part of its plan for the development.

“We wanted to build a development that would appeal to buyers from all walks of life, with the aim of creating a community that people would be proud to call home – and it’s certainly worked” added Paula. “We’ve got first-time buyers, downsizing older couples, growing families and professional couples living as neighbours in a community that’s already seen as a welcome addition to Howden.”

An additional element behind the success of Kensington Vale is its location in the East Riding – a region that is fast becoming one of the UK’s most popular residential property hotspots.

“The East Riding really does have everything – stunning coast and countryside; wonderful market towns like Howden; idyllic villages; and at its heart is one of the most exciting cities in the UK. Add in a transport infrastructure that is the envy of many more heavily populated regions; and extremely competitive house prices; and the question you have to ask is why wouldn’t you buy in the East Riding?”

As well as Howden, Ashberry Homes is also building in Church Fenton, North Yorkshire. Its Poppy Fields development comprises 124-homes and features everything from two-bedroom mews houses to four-bedroom detached homes. Prices on the three-bedroom homes currently available begin at £234,995.
