Fun for all the family at new housing development in Bacton

Bellway sales staff welcomed members of the local community to a family fun weekend at a new homes development in the Suffolk village of Bacton.

The sales team invited visitors to Ivy Hill on Saturday 9 September and Sunday 10 September, where guests were given free refreshments and entertained by a balloon artist and a face painter.

Children were also invited to take part in garden games, a treasure hunt around the showhomes, and a ‘build a Lego house’ competition with prizes.

Bellway Eastern Counties is building 85 sustainable new properties on a 12-acre site off Pretyman Avenue, which will feature 2.5 acres of public open space and a play area, as well as land for a new community centre.

And to meet the need for new energy-efficient housing, all properties will be fitted with an air source heat pump and underfloor heating.

Marrissa Gale, Sales Manager for Bellway Eastern Counties, said: “It was lovely to be able to welcome members of the public to Ivy Hill and meet them face-to-face in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. The children, and some of the adults, enjoyed watching the balloon artist and having their faces painted.

“The new homes will benefit from air source heat pumps and underfloor heating and the sales team were on hand during the day to answer questions about how this low carbon system, which is more efficient than a gas boiler, works using heat energy from the air.

“The day also allowed us to explain how we are providing land so that a new community building can be built. We pride ourselves on playing a positive role in the local communities where we build and this land provision is evidence of that ethos.

“And as part of the planning agreement for Ivy Hill, 30 of the new homes at Ivy Hill will be available through low-cost rent or shared ownership, to allow local people to secure a home close to their network of family and friends.”

Ivy Hill will comprise a range of two to four-bedroom houses and two-bedroom bungalows. There are currently two showhomes – the three-bedroom Mason and four-bedroom Silversmith – available to view.

There is currently a choice of two, three and four-bedroom houses available to reserve at Ivy Hill, with prices starting at £264,995.
