First residents move into new homes at Abbey View in Bourne

The first residents have moved into their new homes at a development which marks part of the final stages of work at Elsea Park in Bourne.

Bellway Eastern Counties is building 201 new homes at Abbey View, alongside landscaped areas of public open space, on land off Newton Abbot Way to the south of the town.

The developer is delivering 172 two, three and four-bedroom new homes for private sale and 29 affordable properties for local people through rent or shared ownership.

The development, where Ashberry Homes is also building 172 new homes at Bourne Springs, is the final phase in the wider Elsea Park scheme, which began 20 years ago and was planned to bring a total of 1,500 new homes to the area.

Rhiannon Jones, Head of Sales for Bellway Eastern Counties, said: “This is a milestone moment not only for the Abbey View development in particular but also for the Elsea Park neighbourhood as a whole.

“We at Bellway are proud to have played a key role in providing hundreds of new homes within this ambitious scheme which has created a significant extension to Bourne as well as a much-needed relief road and a host of new facilities. When Abbey View is complete, it will provide the final piece in the jigsaw of the wider project.”

The Elsea Park project has delivered a primary school and a community centre, as well as large areas of green open space.

Rhiannon said: “Elsea Park is a bustling and thriving new neighbourhood in Bourne and it is great to see the first residents now moving in at Abbey View. There is real excitement in the air as the development starts to make the transition from a building site into a fully-fledged new community.

“There is a good choice of homes at Abbey View which will appeal to range of house-hunters, from young people seeking their first home, to growing families who need more space, and downsizers reducing their commitments after retirement. As construction work progresses, we will be handing over the keys to more and more buyers who have chosen to make Abbey View their new home.”

There’s currently a selection of two, three and four-bedroom homes available to reserve at Abbey View, with prices starting at £214,950, £248,950 and £352,950 respectively.
