First residents move in at development on former hop farm in Tongham

The first residents have moved into their new homes at Bellway’s Admiral Park development in the Surrey village of Tongham.

Bellway is building 127 properties at the scheme off The Street, with the first homes released for sale last year.

Now 16 homes on the development – which occupies land previously used to grow Admiral hops – are complete and their new residents have moved in.

As well as new homes, the development is planned to include large areas of public open space, with woodland, footpaths and a children’s play area.

Daniel Williamson, Sales Director of Bellway South London, said: “A new community is beginning to form here at Admiral Park as our homebuyers are settling into their properties and getting to know each other.

“This is what building a development is all about – seeing everything come to fruition with people enjoying their homes, making friends and learning about their new neighbourhood.”

Bellway is building a range of property types at Admiral Park, including three and four-bedroom houses and two-bedroom apartments.

The scheme is part of a wider development that will deliver a total of 254 homes. The planning agreement for the wider project means that the homebuilders will contribute around £2.3 million to support services and infrastructure in the area. This will include money for education, roads, cycle routes and improvements to public rights of way.

Visitors can take a tour of the Bellway showhomes which are available to view at Admiral Park – the three-bedroom Mason and the four-bedroom Philosopher designs. The properties are part of the homebuilder’s Artisan Collection, which are all named after trades and crafts.

“There has been a lot of interest since we launched our showhomes as they are very inspiring for house-hunters and demonstrate the high standards and build quality here,” said Daniel.

“This development is a great combination as it’s in a rural location that’s nevertheless well connected. It’s possible to walk to the village centre and there are two railway stations within a few miles – Aldershot and Farnham.”

Admiral Park is opposite the Hogs Back Brewery in the village. The scheme is being built on what was once the brewery’s hop farm and the development is named after the Admiral hop variety the company uses to make beer.

There’s currently a choice of three and four-bedroom houses available to reserve at Admiral Park, with prices starting from £439,500.
