First new homes released onto the market at Lockwood Place in Bramford

The first homes at a Bellway Essex development in Bramford have now gone on sale.

The housebuilder is delivering a total of 190 new homes at Lockwood Place, off Loraine Way in the village, and opened a new sales office on Saturday 14 January, when the first visitors were able to visit the site.

The development will consist of 123 two, three and four-bedroom houses for private sale and 67 affordable apartments and houses available for local people through shared ownership or rent, alongside a large area of public open space for residents to enjoy.

A new showhome is due to open in April and the first buyers at Lockwood Place are expected to move into their new homes in the summer of this year.

Jenny Walker, Sales Director of Bellway Essex, said: “There has been a great deal of excitement about this development ever since we revealed our plans to build the new homes here. This level of interest led to a large number of visitors who came along to the site on the launch weekend and kept our sales team very busy.

“The weekend was a great success and it was good to be able to welcome potential purchasers to the development for the first time.

“The development will provide a range of two, three and four-bedroom properties that will appeal to a variety of buyers at different stages of the property ladder. We have worked closely with the local authority to design Lockwood Place to help address housing needs in the Bramford area.

“The site will not only provide more than 120 new homes for the private market but also deliver more than a third of the total number of properties as affordable homes to enable local people to secure a new place to live near family and friends.”

Lockwood Place will feature more than 17 acres of public open space including a nature area to the north of the site, with tree planting, footpaths, seating and wildflower grassland. As part of the planning agreement, land will be set aside for a new pre-school.

Jenny said: “This is an exciting project which is further proof of our ongoing commitment to deliver much-needed new housing in the Ipswich area as we are already building another 190 properties at our Ridley’s Orchard development in Whitton.

“With construction work underway and the first homes now released onto the market at Lockwood Place, we are on schedule to finish the first properties on site this summer. We are also planning to unveil a four-bedroom Sculptor showhome at the development in April to allow buyers to experience in-person the quality and finish that come with a Bellway new-build property.”

There’s currently a choice of three and four-bedroom new homes available to reserve at Lockwood Place, with prices starting at £319,995 and £429,995 respectively.
