Father Christmas welcomes visitors to showhome at Lockwood Place in Bramford

Residents and visitors to Bellway’s Lockwood Place development in the Suffolk village of Bramford had a chance to meet Father Christmas at the weekend.

It was part of a festive event held in the new neighbourhood on Saturday (14 December).

The homebuilder invited residents who have already moved into the development to come along as well as potential customers and local people who wanted to find out more about Lockwood Place.

Santa visited the four-bedroom Sculptor showhome at the development, where he handed out presents from Bellway to children who stopped by. As part of Bellway’s Christmas celebrations, the company also contributed £250 to the Christmas tree festival, which was held at St Mary’s Church in Bramford on Saturday and Sunday, to support the running of the local church over the Christmas period.

Bellway Essex Sales Manager Laura Trigg said: “There’s a welcoming new community already taking shape at Lockwood Place, and it was lovely to see residents and visitors alike at the showhome on Saturday for a festive celebration. Families thoroughly enjoyed having the chance to meet Father Christmas.

“We were also pleased to hear that the Christmas tree festival at St Mary’s Church was a great success and that our support will help the church over the Christmas period.

“At our Christmas event, visitors were able to look around the Sculptor showhome which is a wonderful property to imagine family Christmas celebrations taking place with its spacious kitchen diner and a living room that’s perfect for hosting friends and family. We decorated it with a fabulous Christmas tree, so it looked very welcoming and festive.

“Lockwood Place is a beautifully planned development that has incorporated design details and practical features to make life easy and enjoyable for all who live here, and the variety of homes being built has already attracted a lovely mix of residents.”

Bellway is building 190 properties at Lockwood Place with the first homes going on sale last year.

Bellway has completed construction on 41 properties and work on site is expected to be finished by early 2027.

The development is on a 32-acre site off Loraine Way in the village and when complete will be made up of 123 two, three, and four-bedroom houses for private sale and 67 affordable homes.

More than half the land is being given over to green open space including a nature area and wildflower grassland. Tree-planting, footpaths and seating are included in the plans for the development, while Bellway will also provide land for a pre-school.
