Dog walk helps residents socialise at Sheasby Park

Residents and dog-lovers had an ‘oppawtunity’ to get to know each other at a dog-walking event hosted by Bellway at its Sheasby Park development in Fradley on Sunday 12 February.

A community of dog-lovers enjoyed a fun-filled event walking their pets and socialising with their neighbours at the development, off Common Lane.

A variety of refreshments – including cakes, muffins and hot cross buns – were laid out in the sales office for residents whilst their pets enjoyed yummy dog treats provided by local supplier Raw Essentials. Porky bites and turmeric sausages were just a few of the tasty treats for the furry companions.

Jacqui Egginton moved to Sheasby Park in October 2022 and attended the dog-walking event with her cockapoo Molly.

She said: “Molly doesn’t tend to interact with other dogs, however she bonded well with other residents’ pets and she enjoyed the dog treats.

“The event was a perfect opportunity for residents to meet each other – we often pass each other when we’re out and about so I saw some familiar faces and we got chatting.

“Also, a few new residents who haven’t moved in yet were at the event and that was a good opportunity for them to ask any questions about living here. I had nothing but positive feedback for them and look forward to seeing them around soon when they move in.

“Whenever I’m walking Molly, I’m always surrounded by green space and have a clear view of the lake nearby. I hope Bellway will organise another dog-walking event soon. It’s nice to be a part of the community here at Sheasby Park.”

Lorraine Joyce moved to Sheasby Park in November 2022 with Jude, her Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla. Jude loved posing in front of the camera as she decided what dog treats took her fancy.

Lorraine said: “It was a really great idea for Bellway to organise this event. Jude really enjoyed interacting with the other dogs and having other residents feed her some treats.

“The development is a really nice place to live in. There are plenty of places to walk dogs and get some fresh air.”

Marie Richards, Sales Director for Bellway West Midlands, said: “As a community at Sheasby Park begins to take shape, we wanted to organise a meet-and-greet event and hear how our residents are finding their new homes.

“It was also good to catch up with our soon-to-be residents and see them talking to other people who have lived at the development for some time and are already enjoying life in this great location.”

Phase three of Sheasby Park comprises a range of one-bedroom apartments and two, three, four and five-bedroom houses for sale.
