Detailed plans submitted for 154 new homes at High Leigh Grange

Detailed plans for 154 new homes across three land parcels at High Leigh Grange in Hoddesdon have been submitted to the Borough of Broxbourne Council.

Homebuilder Bellway is seeking detailed planning permission for the land south of Dinant Link Road and east of the A10, which sits within High Leigh Garden Village. Outline planning permission for the homes has already been approved.

Two applications have been submitted, the first for 19 homes on Parcel D and the other for 135 homes on Parcels B and C.

Ali Maruf, Managing Director for Bellway North London, said: “Our detailed proposals have been carefully and thoughtfully planned to meet the local need for high-quality homes.

“Our proposal not only provides well-designed, energy-efficient homes, but sets them within a development that offers space for people to enjoy, consideration for wildlife and planting, and provision of cycle and footways.

“The range of house styles and sizes means that our scheme will appeal to a variety of buyers with different requirements and budgets. And with affordable homes allocated within the scheme, there are options for those looking for affordable rent or shared ownership.

“The wider plans for the garden village propose a modern and well-served neighbourhood, where a new community will enjoy living – and our proposals fit perfectly into that wider goal.”

This latest application, for Parcels B and C, includes a mix of home styles and sizes, with 112 two, three, four and five-bedroom houses for private sale. The 23 affordable homes would include one and two-bedroom maisonettes and two to four-bedroom houses, with 18 for affordable rent, and five shared ownership properties.

The application for Parcel D is for two, three, and four-bedroom homes including eight affordable properties for shared ownership or affordable rent.

The wider High Leigh Garden Village project, which, subject to planning approval for these latest applications, will bring more than 500 new homes to the area across a 97-acre site.

The garden village includes a two-form entry primary school and nursery which is currently nearing completion, as well as community facilities, allotments, public open spaces, and sports and play facilities.
