Couple put down roots at Kingsmere Park after returning to the UK from Dubai

A couple who met in Dubai and spent five years together there before coming home to the UK have put down roots at Bellway’s Kingsmere Park development near Bournemouth.

Professional golf instructor Natalie Goodall, 32, and project manager Will Coan, 34, had been renting a two-bedroom apartment in Blandford Forum following their return to England when they decided it was time to get on the property ladder.

And they found their ideal property in the shape of a two-bedroom coach house at Kingsmere Park, which they purchased with the help of a £24,000 incentive from Bellway.

“We had been in the flat for two years, which was the minimum duration required to present my books as a self-employed person to a prospective mortgage lender,” said Natalie. “The plan was always to come back to the UK from Dubai and buy a house and settle down here.

“We did some online research and saw that Bellway were building at Kingsmere Park in West Parley and went along to speak to a sales advisor. They had just released a two-bedroom coach house for sale and it was perfect for us.”

The couple are particularly pleased with the extra space that their new home provides.

“At the old flat it was just so cramped. Here, we have a large en suite in the main bedroom and a lovely family bathroom, which effectively means we have his and her bathrooms. It’s lovely to not have to share as it allows us to get ready in our own time.

“The spare bedroom is big enough so that Will can set up his working from home zone there when he needs to. Where we lived before, the spare bedroom was too small to use for that purpose and Will had to work in the middle of the living area, which was far from ideal. Here we can keep the workspace separate.

“Another way in which the layout of the new house really works for us is in the kitchen area. It’s so big that we have put a dining table in there and have dinner together most evenings, which is new for us. There is also enough room to use the living area as just that so we can chill out and watch TV or play games on screen.”

Natalie and Will had managed to get together a decent deposit and received a £24,000 contribution from Bellway towards the purchase of their new £319,995 home.

“If it hadn’t been for this helping hand, I don’t think we could have bought the house,” said Natalie.

“We used some of the incentive to have flooring and carpet put down, to upgrade all the appliances, have spotlights installed in the living area and to have fitted wardrobes in both bedrooms. With all the money this has saved us, we have been able to buy all new furniture for the whole house.

“We even had enough money to put some away to help pay the mortgage for the first few months. It really took the pressure off us in the initial stages of owning our own place and having to pay for it.”

Before moving into their new home in July 2024, the couple had the opportunity to go on two site visits to see how the build was progressing.

“It was incredibly exciting,” said Natalie. “We saw it in the very early stages but then got to walk inside it at the pre-plaster phase, which was thrilling. I was so invested in the process that I often used to drive the short distance from work to park outside the development and watch them actually working on our house.

“Because we were first-time buyers, we didn’t know what to expect from the house-buying journey but the Bellway sales advisors and site team made it really smooth and stress-free. They were all great and answered any questions we had along the way.”

The location is also a massive plus for Natalie, a teaching professional at Parley Golf Centre, and William, who works out of an office in Bournemouth.

“Where we live is fabulous as my commute has been reduced from 40 minutes to three while Will’s drive to the office now takes him 15 minutes whereas before it could take up to one hour and 20 minutes depending on the traffic. This means we have much more time together every day.

“Also, we are close to the centre of Bournemouth so it’s really convenient for us to go out and enjoy the shops, the cafes, the bars and the restaurants. It’s a really buzzing place and it’s lovely for us to be able to get out and meet friends and have a good time.

“All in all, we absolutely love where we live and feel lucky to have stepped onto the property ladder in such a wonderful new home.”

There’s currently a selection of two, three and four-bedroom homes available to reserve at Kingsmere Park, with prices starting at £329,995
