Construction work comes to an end at Witham development

Construction work has now been completed at a new housing development in Witham.

Bellway Essex has delivered 385 new homes at Rivenhall Park, off Forest Road in the town, including 269 new homes for private sale and 116 affordable properties, made available to local people through rent or shared ownership.

The development comprises a range of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes and areas of public open space, near Rivenhall Oaks Golf Centre.

Strong sales have seen buyers snap up all but one of the properties at the development.

Jenny Walker, Sales Director for Bellway Essex, said: “It is a significant milestone whenever the construction work at a new housing development is completed. Rivenhall Park has been a very popular site ever since we first announced our plans to build the homes here.

“After the first new homes were released onto the market in 2017, we experienced a high level of interest in the properties here. As buyers have moved into their homes, we have witnessed a brand-new community take shape.

“The range of house types has seen buyers at various stages of the property ladder find a new home here and this has helped create a diverse neighbourhood with people of different ages and backgrounds. This dynamic mix has already led to residents feeling a real sense of belonging at Rivenhall Park.”

As part of the planning agreement for the development, Bellway is contributing around £2 million towards local services and facilities.

Jenny said: “At Bellway we see our role as not only delivering much-needed new housing but also ensuring we bring improvements to local infrastructure that will benefit residents old and new alike. To this end we are making a number of investments that will see us contribute £1.3 million towards education in the area and more than £300,000 for sports facilities locally as well as other contributions to health care and community facilities.

“Although we have sold all but one of the properties at Rivenhall Park, the good news for buyers is that we are currently building another 78 new homes at our New Gimson Place development, off River View in Witham. We see this site as a natural successor to Rivenhall Park and is offers house-hunters a selection of two, three and four-bedroom homes in this much sought-after location.”

The four-bedroom Blackmore detached house is the final home remaining for sale at Rivenhall Park, priced from £599,995.

At New Gimson Place, there is a selection of three and four-bedroom new homes available to reserve, with prices starting at £449,995 and £556,995 respectively.
