Champion of customer service welcomed home by five-star housebuilder

Sales advisor Adam Champion’s commitment to his customers has seen him make a welcome return to five-star housebuilder Bellway.

Adam is now helping homebuyers find their ideal home at Bourne Springs in Bourne as a sales advisor for Ashberry Homes, part of the Bellway Group. He rejoined Bellway East Midlands as a sales advisor in September after spending 15 months in a similar role with another developer.

The 29-year-old father-of-one, who lives in a village near Mansfield, said: “To be honest, I missed the Bellway way. I gave it my best shot at the other company but, it gradually dawned on me that I had made a mistake by ever leaving Bellway.

“The best thing about being a sales advisor with Bellway is that they genuinely do put their customers first. This means that the focus of the entire team at the site is the quality of the homes and making sure that the buyer is happy. I missed that total commitment.”

That focus on customer service has led to Bellway earning a five-star rating with Home Builders Federation for the past six years running. This means more than 90 per cent of customers would recommend the housebuilder to friends or family members.

Adam started his career in the housebuilding industry eight years ago and spent three years with another housebuilder before joining Bellway as a sales advisor in 2017.

“I had coveted a job with Bellway then the chance came along to work for them, and I jumped at it,” he said. “Their reputation for quality and excellence in the industry was well-known and I was delighted to get the opportunity to further my career with them.”

During his four years with Bellway he was promoted to senior sales advisor, but he got itchy feet and decided to make a change in his working life.

“I had a great time with Bellway and was delighted to get the promotion but thought I had got too comfortable and needed a change and a challenge in my career,” he said. “I thought moving company would give me that extra motivation and fresh impetus, but it was not to be.”

Now that he has returned to the Bellway fold, Adam could not be happier.

“Once again, I was lucky enough to be offered a post at Bellway and it was no-brainer – I took the job straightaway,” he said. “In many ways, it feels like I have come home.”

Adam started his career again at Bellway by taking a role as sales advisor at its Gateford Quarter development in Worksop. In November, he switched to selling homes at Bourne Springs.

He said: “I am loving the new role because I get to be my own boss, which suits me, but I know I have the full support from the Bellway management team. Here the entire site team is dedicated to producing the highest quality of homes and making sure that customer care is of the highest priority.

“Being back with Bellway is great because at the end of the day, I get immense job satisfaction from seeing the smiling faces of happy buyers when I hand them the keys to their dream home. In a way, I feel that I have been given a second chance to forge a career with Bellway and that is what I aim to do – with the role of sales director my ultimate aim.”
