Bellway to host independent mortgage advice day in Brough

The Yorkshire division of national homebuilder, Bellway Homes is hosting an independent mortgage advice weekend at its Palmer’s Grange development in Brough this weekend (January 21st and 22nd from 11am to 5pm).

Aimed at providing those considering buying in 2023 with all the relevant information they need to make an informed decision, the event is being run by the New Homes Mortgage Helpline (NHMH) – an organisation that has helped thousands of people organise a mortgage since it was launched 30-years ago.

Amy Jackson, an NHMH advisor said: “Buying a house can be daunting at the best of times, but when you see all the information flying around about everything from interest rates to affordability tests; changes in stamp duty to changing loan to value rules; it looks like a minefield that’s virtually impossible to navigate.”

“Our aim is to show those who would like to move house in 2023 that it’s not only possible, but as affordable as ever.”

Emma Fitton-Cook, Bellway Yorkshire’s sales manager, added: “You’d be forgiven for thinking that the sudden rise in interest rates towards the end of 2022, combined with the cost of living crisis, would’ve stopped the housing market in its tracks. But sales stayed strong and 2023 has kicked-off in spectacular fashion.”

“For those unsure what their options are, or worried whether now really is a good time to buy, the expertise Amy and the NHMH are able to provide could be the difference between dreaming of a new home and that dream becoming reality.”

Ahead of the NHMH Mortgage Advice event, Bellway has said that now is the ideal time to buy as its new build homes can save buyers up to £2,600 per year on energy bills.

Furthermore, the Stamp Duty changes that came in late 2022 can save buyers up to £8,750, while the housebuilder is currently offering buyers £1,000 per month mortgage support for two years for homes reserved before March 31st, 2023.

“Now really is the time to buy,” continued Emma. “We do hope those who come to seek advice from the NHMH this weekend will quickly realise this.”

The NHMH Mortgage Advice event runs from 11am to 5pm on Saturday, 21st  and Sunday 22nd January, and is being held at Bellway Yorkshire’s Palmer’s Grange development on Blenheim Avenue in Brough.

Bellway is currently building extensively in the East Riding, with developments in Anlaby, Brough, Driffield, Howden, Kirk Ella, Pocklington and South Cave, and a new one in Beverley due to launch this Spring.
