Bellway sponsors new junior football initiative in Somerset
A new football initiative in Somerset to develop football skills in children aged between four and six is being supported by Bellway South West.
The company, which is building 150 new homes at Mead Fields on the eastern edge of Weston-super-Mare, has sponsored Banwell Ballers with a £300 donation.
The group provides free football coaching sessions for children aged between four and six years old and is organised by Banwell FC, which is just over two miles from the Bellway development. The money has funded training tops for children who are taking part.
Mark Rawlins, Chairman of Banwell FC, said: “I would like to extend my warm thanks to Bellway on behalf of Banwell FC for their kind sponsorship of 22 training tops for our new junior team.
“Banwell Ballers is a brand-new initiative to prepare the children and develop their skills before they join our junior teams who play in the Woodspring Junior League.
“This donation has made a difference to 22 young players who now have the chance to develop their talent and have coaching before playing competitively.
“As a community football club, it’s difficult to find the funds to pay for training equipment and football kits so Bellway’s sponsorship has given us a huge lift. It’s been fantastic to see the children wear the training tops proudly as they get to know each other and pursue their love of football further.”
