Bellway shows its support for Cribbs FC in Bristol
A football club in Bristol has received a financial boost from local housebuilder Bellway.
The developer has donated £400 to Cribbs FC for new equipment and to help with running costs for its first team.
The club is based at Cribbs Causeway, just half a mile from Bellway’s Berwick Green development.
Dave Nelson, Chairman of Cribbs FC said: “We are very grateful to Bellway as we rely fully on sponsorships from local businesses. Donations like this are truly the lifeblood of the club. If we didn’t have donations like these, we wouldn’t be where we are now.
“We are very happy to be working with Bellway as we want to encourage new people moving to the area to join our teams, watch the games or come along and make friends at the social club.
“The club has been based here since the 1970s and is within walking distance of Bellway’s development. This is a social space which has a bar, and the football is regularly shown on the TV. The club also hosts weddings and other party events.
“We really want Bellway’s new residents to know that the club is here and know about everything that it offers. We welcome new players and members to our club.”
Cribbs FC is Bristol’s largest and highest ranked non-league team. It has over 200 members and caters for under-sevens through to adults. The team often plays fixtures around the UK, so the money from Bellway will also go towards travel costs.

“There is not only a focus on football at the club, but also a strong sense of community. It is great to be able to support Cribbs FC and we wish them the best of luck in their upcoming training and matches.”
Bellway is building 256 homes in its first phase at Berwick Green and is also planning a second phase of 153 homes. The development will form part of a wider new neighbourhood of 760 homes which will include a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes.
