Bellway gives first glimpse of Beverley development

Bellway Homes has given would-be buyers a first glimpse of its new Beverley development, Bishop’s Gate – with the housebuilder unveiling the first images of the 183-home scheme.

The development, which will launch in Spring 2023, will be located on a 11-hectare site off the town’s Long Lane and comprise a strong mix of different house types and sizes, including two-, three- and four-bedroom homes.

The images that have been released show a selection of the house types due to be built on the development.

Melanie Smith, Bellway Yorkshire’s sales director, said: “Interest in Bishop’s Gate is enormous with hundreds of people from all over the county registering their interest in the development – and I’m sure this number will surge when people finally get a chance to see for themselves what the excitement is all about.”

All of the homes planned for Bishop’s Gate are designed and built to the exacting high standards expected of a housebuilder that has been awarded a five-star status by the Home Builders Federation (HBF) for six successive years. This rating is awarded only when 90 per cent or more of customers state they would happily recommend a housebuilder to a friend or family member. HBF’s ratings are based on a survey of all new home buyers over a calendar year.

“Our reputation for building homes that buyers love is long established,” added Melanie. “And we don’t just stop there – we’re here to create homes and communities that people will love in an environment they’ll be proud to call home.”

Bellway announced earlier in the year that it will invest close to £3.5million in infrastructure and leisure improvements during its time in Beverley. This includes £1.3million in educational contributions, £228k towards the construction of a footbridge over the Hull to Scarborough rail line, £400k on off-site road improvements and £1.4million in recreational contributions.

The masterplan for the area in which Bellway will be building is widespread and includes the provision of new primary school places either within an extension of Keldmarsh primary school or provision for a new primary school on a later phase of the wider site development; new cycle and pedestrian routes; new leisure facilities; and the construction of two spine roads running between Minster Way and Woodmansey Mile.
