Bellway figures out downsize move home for South Cave accountant Alicia

Accountancy firm owner, Alicia Jardine-Laurie decided to downsize and return to South Cave after Bellway Homes showed that the move from North Cave all added up.

Alicia made the move from a property with four acres of paddocks and nearly an acre of garden to a four-bedroom detached, Forester on the housebuilder’s Barleycorn Way development on Little Wold Lane.

“I wanted to move back to South Cave for my four-year old daughter, Isla, but was torn as I wasn’t keen on downsizing,” said Alicia. “And when friends suggested I looked at Barleycorn Way I was dead against even visiting the site as I believed that new build homes came nowhere near the quality of the older homes I’d always lived in.”

“Looking back, I was probably the most reluctant potential buyer Bellway has ever had, but when I was shown the quality and attention to detail of the house I was quickly won over.”

All of the homes at Barleycorn Way are designed and built to the exacting high standards expected of a housebuilder that recently celebrated retaining its five-star status with the Home Builders Federation (HBF) for a sixth successive year. This rating is awarded only when 90 per cent or more of customers state they would happily recommend a housebuilder to a friend or family member. HBF’s ratings are based on a survey of all new home buyers over a calendar year.

“Our reputation for building homes that buyers love is long established,” said Emma Fitton-Cook, Bellway Yorkshire’s sales manager, “And we don’t just stop there – we’re here to create homes and communities that people will love in an environment they’ll be proud to call home. Naturally, we’re delighted to see Alicia and Isla settling into their new home so quickly.”

Barleycorn Way is being built off South Cave’s Little Wold Lane and when complete will comprise 126 homes – including two-bedroom townhouses, and three and four-bedroom semi-detached and detached homes. Prices on the development currently range from £317,995 to £422,995.

“I love my new home in my old home town,” added Alicia. “And unlike an older home I’m in no rush to change any of the interior. I have had the garden landscaped but that’s all. The quality of the house build has made it so much easier to find time for my two horses, due to not having to fix any issues. Bellway has been faultless throughout the experience.”

Bellway is currently very active in the East Riding, with developments in Brough, Driffield, Howden, Kirk Ella and Pocklington as well as South Cave. A new development in Beverley is due to open in early 2023.
