Bellway brings a touch of magic to school’s second summer fair
A primary school’s second-only summer fair will include entertainment from a magician and a silent disco thanks to generous sponsorship from Bellway.
The housebuilder, which is building new homes at Bellway at Boorley Gardens, near Botley in Hampshire, has donated £300 to nearby Boorley Park Primary School PTA for its fair on Saturday 8 July.
The new school opened in 2019 and held its first-ever summer fair last year.
PTA Co-chair Stephanie Buckle said: “It means the world to us to have the support of Bellway. With their generous sponsorship, we’ve been able to add extra entertainment to the event in the shape of a magician and a silent disco.
“Most importantly, this sponsorship enables us to offer a number of activities free of charge and to keep costs for other activities as low as possible so that the event is inclusive for all.”
The fair will help raise funds for Boorley Park Primary School, which currently has classes from Reception to Year 3. The school will continue to grow over the next three years until it has capacity for 420 pupils aged from four to 11.
Hazel Wills, PTA Co-chair, said: “We held our first summer fair last year and it was so popular with parents, children and the wider community that we are bringing it back again but bigger and better.
“We’re incredibly lucky to have such a supportive community made up of residents who came out in huge numbers to attend the fair last year.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to bring everyone together not only to help us raise money for the school, but also to give local residents an afternoon of traditional summer fair fun right on their doorstep. We’re hoping to welcome even more people to the event this year.”
The school, which is located off Nairn Road, is less than a mile from Bellway at Boorley Gardens, off Winchester Road, where Bellway is building 357 homes.
Jon Rance, Sales Manager at Bellway Wessex, said: “Our sponsorship of the summer fair will help Boorley Park Primary School PTA put on an even bigger and better event this year, and help raise money for the school.
“We hope the children enjoy the magic show and silent disco and that lots of local residents join the PTA at the fair to enjoy the attractions on offer.”
