All residents have moved in at The Exchange at Goodsyard

All the residents have now moved into their new apartments at The Exchange at Goodsyard in Bishop’s Stortford, where construction is complete.

Bellway North London has handed over the keys to all 149 new homes within this first phase of the Goodsyard development, comprising five apartment buildings located opposite the town’s railway station. This part of the scheme includes 131 private apartments and 18 affordable homes for local people through rent or shared ownership.

The homebuilder is now set to deliver a further 174 properties within a second phase at Goodsyard called Southside Locks, including 128 apartments for private sale and 46 affordable properties across a further five blocks.

Matt Saw, Bellway North London Sales Manager, said: “One of the real joys of our job is being able to hand over the keys to our customers as they move into their new homes. Our first customers took up residence at The Exchange at Goodsyard in June 2022 and now, just a few months later, we have seen all of the new residents move in.

“The mix of stylish modern apartments in a variety of one, two and three-bedroom options at The Exchange has proved to be very popular with a range of buyers from the town but also with home-hunters from further afield. Bishop’s Stortford is a fabulous location which offers all the charm of a historic market town as well as quick access to London.

“The Exchange is a short walk from the buzz of the town centre shops, bars and restaurants and a short stroll from the train station which has services to Stansted Airport and London Liverpool Street in just under 40 minutes.”

The Bellway developments are part of a £200m project, led by Solum, which is transforming the former railway goods yard into a mixed-use development of around 500 homes, a hotel, care home, and retail and office space.

A new transport interchange, station square and multi-storey car park are also being delivered as part of the scheme, as well as a bus route connecting Station Road and Dane Street with London Road.

Matt said: “We are proud to be playing a key role in a scheme which is seeing the regeneration of a disused parcel of land and its transformation into a vibrant neighbourhood right in the heart of the lively town of Bishop’s Stortford. Construction work at The Exchange was completed at the end of August and it is good to see the site change from a building site into a living, breathing community.

“Anyone who missed out on buying an apartment at The Exchange should note that Bellway North London is delivering a further 174 new homes at Southside Locks, which is the second phase of building at Goodsyard. We would advise anyone wanting to secure an apartment on this much sought-after development to contact us as soon as possible because we do not expect these properties be on the market for long.”

There’s currently a selection of one, two and three-bedroom apartments available to reserve at Southside Locks at Goodsyard, with prices starting at £257,500, £335,000 and £410,000 respectively.
