Bellway scores with Swallownest F.C. sponsorship

The Yorkshire division of national homebuilder, Bellway Homes has won a host of new fans after it confirmed it would be sponsoring two of Swallownest FC’s up and coming young players for the remainder of the 2022 / 23 season.

The housebuilder, which is building on land adjacent to the Northern Counties East League side’s Miners Welfare Ground (known locally as the Swall Siro), will be sponsoring striker, Will Montero and goalkeeper, Zac Walker. Both players are 22 and study at Hallam University in Sheffield.

Jessica Hall, Bellway Yorkshire’s sales manager, said: “With any development our aim is always to go beyond building houses and help to create communities. Here in Swallownest we’re investing over £650,000 in local infrastructure, transport, education and leisure facilities; have introduced Reduced Market Value Homes; and are creating upwards of 20 jobs during construction.”

“Tying in with Swallownest FC is another important step as it helps to forge links between those buying on our new development and one of the town’s most important clubs. And given Millstone Park is within kicking distance of the club I’m sure it won’t be long before a few of our buyers are turning out for them.”

Bellway’s Millstone Park is being built on a 3.9-acre site to the east of Park Hill Farm in Park Hill, Swallownest and when complete will feature 99 new homes, comprising a mix of three-bedroom townhouses, three-bedroom detached and semi-detached homes, and four-bedroom detached properties. Prices range from £171,995 to £397,995.

Martin Morton, chairman of Swallownest F.C, said: “Grassroots football is the bedrock of the amateur game in this country; providing a tiered structure, for those capable, to move into semi-professional and for those lucky enough into our professional game.”

“Our aim is to continue providing opportunities for people from all walks of life to enjoy local football – whether it be playing, volunteering or simply coming to cheer the side along. And it’s donations from the likes of Bellway Homes that help us to keep on running season after season – at least until we get bought by a billionaire benefactor!”
