Homebuilder’s gift of mini hi-vis vests helps promote safety at Woodside Primary School in Goff’s Oak
Youngsters at Woodside Primary School in Goff’s Oak will be safe and highly visible when they are out and about thanks to a donation of hi-vis vests by local homebuilder Bellway.
The children will use the vests when they learn about road safety and when they go on walks outside of the school grounds.
Bellway, which is building new homes at King George’s Vale in nearby Cuffley, donated 30 hi-vis vests. The housebuilder previously supported the school by helping to fund a reindeer visit and organising a bauble decorating stall at its Christmas fair last year.
Headteacher at the school Caroline Ginty, said: “We are very grateful to Bellway for sponsoring the school and donating these hi-vis vests to help keep our young people visible when out on school trips. They are really bright and the children have already enjoyed wearing them on trips to a castle!”
Bellway North London Sales Manager Zoe Dobbs said: “Understanding the importance of road safety is essential for children and so we were pleased to donate the mini hi-vis vests to Woodside Primary School.
“They will be able to use the vests to make points about road safety during lessons as well as put them to use when the children are out and about away from the school buildings.
“It’s the perfect gift for us to give the school because being in the construction industry we are well aware of the importance of hi-vis in helping to keep everyone safe on site. It’s part of our standard equipment and now it’s part of the pupils’ too.
“This donation is very much part of our ongoing relationship with the school, as we previously supported its Christmas fair. It’s part of our mission to be a helpful and useful part of the communities where we build new homes.”
Bellway is building 121 homes at King George’s Vale, off Northaw Road East in Cuffley.
