Bellway officially hands over park at Goffs Oak development
A park created as part of the new Cedarbrook Rise development in Goffs Oak has been handed over to property management company Remus for the use of the local community.
The opening of the parkland marks the culmination of the completion of the development.
The public open space was opened by housebuilder Bellway at a ceremony attended by Deputy Mayor of Broxbourne, Cllr Patsy Spears on Friday 16 August.
The L-shaped linear park runs the full length of the development, from Andrews Lane in the north to the main entrance to the site on Burton Lane in the south west. It features two natural play areas and a formal seating area, as well as a pedestrian and cycle path linking to neighbouring developments within the wider Rosedale Park scheme.
The park features a picnic area and a range of planting including wildflowers, trees, hedgerows, a butterfly meadow, and native scrub. Ecological features including bird and bat boxes have also been included at both ends of the park.
The natural play areas are made up of elements such as boulders and logs that have been chosen to fit in visually with the surrounding landscape while encouraging youngsters to get active.

Cllr Spears said: “I was very happy to attend the official handover of the new linear park, which was delivered as part of the planning agreement for the new homes which have been built here by Bellway.
“It was lovely to take a walk through the park and find out more about how it has been designed to create both new habitats for wildlife and social places for people to meet, exercise and play.
“Providing access to public open space is so important for people’s mental health and wellbeing and we hope that the residents of Goffs Oak, both old and new, will enjoy using this attractive new amenity on their doorstep.”
Cedarbrook Rise is a development of two, three, and four-bedroom properties. All 66 homes have been built and 61 of these properties are now occupied. A further four have been reserved, meaning there is just one new home still available to buy - a three-bedroom semi-detached house in Bellway’s Harper house style priced at £550,000.
