Bellway London welcomes first visitors to new development on former college campus in Harold Hill

Bellway London has opened the doors to a new development being built on the former Havering College campus in Harold Hill.

The developer welcomed the first visitors to the Roe Wood Park development, which is taking shape on the former Quarles Campus site, off Tring Gardens, on Saturday 13 July. 10 of the 14 plots released, were reserved by customers.

Work is progressing on the nine-acre site where the first new homes are due to be completed by Spring 2025

The development will deliver a total of 120 new homes, featuring 53 houses and apartments for private sale, including a mix of one, two and three-bedroom properties. There will also be 47 affordable homes available through low-cost rent or shared ownership.

Roe Wood Park is being delivered by Bellway London and Mercury Land Holdings, a wholly owned company of Havering Council which manages affordable housing in the borough. A total of 20 new homes will be made available for private rent through Mercury Land Holdings.

Carolyn Webb, Bellway London Sales Manager, said: “There has been a great deal of interest in the new homes being built at Roe Wood Park ever since plans were announced. This was a highly-anticipated launch which was evidenced by the incredibly high number of people who turned up on the launch weekend.

“It was great to be able to welcome visitors onto the development for the first time and to show them exactly what we are delivering on the site. The range of two and three-bedroom houses and one, two and three-bedroom apartments is designed to meet the requirements of the local housing market and has appeal for a broad variety of buyers.”

Bellway London has released new computer-generated images to show how the development will look once it is finished. The progress being made at the site can be clearly seen in aerial photographs taken by local resident Peter Barrett.

Carolyn said: “Work is progressing at the site as Mr Barrett’s aerial shots clearly illustrate while the CGIs provide a glimpse of what the homes will look like once they have been built.

“When we talk to people it is evident that one of the big attractions of this development is its excellent transport links by both rail and road.

"Harold Wood railway station is just two miles away and provides regular services to London Liverpool Street and connects with the Elizabeth Line with direct trains to the centre of the capital. Drivers are well-served by easy access to the A12 and A127 for the wider region while junction 28 of the M25 is less than two miles from the development.”

There is currently a choice of two and three-bedroom homes available to reserve at Roe Wood Park, with prices starting at £416,000 and £485,000 respectively.
