Bellway extends its commitment to Shawfair

Bellway Homes has launched a new residential development at Shawfair, near Sheriffhall on the outskirts of Edinburgh representing the company’s fourth significant new build development in the community.

The housebuilder was the first partner to commit to the redevelopment of Shawfair in 2017 which has since grown to become a firmly established residential community that will also feature a community campus including nursery, primary and secondary schools, a swimming pool, theatre, sports pitches and training facilities.

Shawfair Phase 4, Bellway’s latest development, spans just under 15 acres and will feature 175 new homes including 140 for private sale and 35 affordable homes. 

Property styles will include three bedroom semi and detached properties as well as four and five bedroom homes.  The first release of new homes includes the three bedroom Lytham as well as a selection of four bedroom homes such as the impressive Lomond, a spacious family home.  Prices are expected to start from £340,995.

The affordable homes will include two bedroom cottage flats and two, three and four bedroom terraced properties.

Bellway at Shawfair enjoys a covetable location a short distance Edinburgh. The area surrounding Shawfair offers a wide range of entertainment and is just a short drive to Fort Kinnaird Retail Park.  Also, a short drive away is Dalkeith Country Park and the popular seaside resort of Portobello with its two mile stretch of golden sand with trendy bars and cafés dotted along the promenade.

Transport connections in the area are excellent, with easy access to a well-connected motorway network and good public transport services. The City of Edinburgh Bypass is under a mile from the development and connects with the A1.

The nearest train station is Shawfair, which connects to Edinburgh Waverley in 15 minutes and to Galashiels or Tweedbank in the Scottish Borders in 40/45 minutes. Alternatively, there are bus services available a short walk from the development.
